Sweet & Smokey Jackfruit Toastie
Jackfruit is a popular plant-based substitutes for meat, and for good reason! It's rich in vitamin C and one of the few fruits that's high in B vitamins. Pair it with Ozganics traditional BBQ sauce and you're in for an absolute treat. Makes: 2 Sandwiches
Ingredients
- Ozganics BBQ Sauce
- 4 slices sourdough bread
- 400g can of jackfruit, drained well
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 red capsicum, sliced into quarters
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper
Method
- In a medium frying pan over a high heat, add the jackfruit, Ozganics
BBQ Sauce, soy sauce and honey - Stir intermittently until the jackfruit is crispy and golden
- Layer the sourdough with the jackfruit and all of the remaining ingredients and garnish with salt and pepper to taste
- Layer with cheese and toast in a sandwich press or frying pan until crispy and golden
